On Friday, October 20th, The Queen Mary will open up the doors to an all new Ghosts and Legends experience on board the fabled ship. It's a year round interactive attraction that invites you to experience the RMS Queen Mary like never before. It all sounds super interesting, and I'm not one to balk a the idea of something like this either. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
So, just what's in store for folks? Here's the official breakdown;
"Experience the spirit legends of the Queen Mary first-hand with all-new special effects, cutting-edge technology and, of course, the chance to encounter paranormal activity for a one-of-a-kind, spine-chilling, fun time.I'm on board with this, yep. The tesla coil kinda got me on that one. Well, that and the idea of the flashlights being controlled by those who are behind the scenes. I can just see how many people are going to freak out when one goes out and something happens around them. It's an interesting tactic and I gotta applaud the team for doing such, but of course the entire event is pretty cool sounding and I like the historical play on things as detailed by their Director of Entertainment Events;
The reimagined Ghost and Legends elevates scares with innovative interactive technology and special effects including a tesla coil firing 3.4 million volt bolts of lightning at a frightfully intimate distance, massive water effects, fog projections with state of the art CGI specters, and a hand-held ghost tracking tablet given to select attendees for the tour. To further enhance the frights, tour groups will also be given a flashlight to guide their way through the dimly lit attraction. Thrill-seekers beware - the flashlights will be controlled by the twisted minds of the Ghost and Legends producers!"
“The new Ghosts and Legends offers guests an entirely different level of the traditional haunted experience. We crafted terrifying original stories and characters based the ship's well-known paranormal tales and hot-spots onboard the Queen Mary to create a truly thrilling, immersive, and unique encounter,” said Brian Luallen, Director of Entertainment Events, The Queen Mary.So, there ya have it. The full rundown of the newest coming from the folks at The Queen Mary. I'm not sure if we're going to get a chance to see this one while we're in the area, but if time allows for it over a busy weekend, we're certainly going to see about giving it a whirl!
If you're curious and wanna go, here's the rest of the info; Ghosts and Legend will be open daily and runs every 30 minutes starting at 11 a.m., accommodating up to 30 guests per experience.
