October, Pink Hair, Halloween Decorating, Movies, and More!

It's been just over two weeks, so definitely time for another one of these, at least it feels like there should be one. That, and it is only a few days into my favorite month of the year, October!

First up, need to get something out there. I'm not one to really complain all that much about things, but holy crap are things far away from where I live currently. Seriously, it was a nearly 3 hour trip just to get to a Walmart that I could use my insurance at.

That's lunacy. But, I did it anyway and it was kinda cool.

No, I haven't totally lost my mind, but there is a chance that the drive did melt some wiring upstairs that was important to some kind of rational thinking. And, I know that many will say "But you drive crazy distances for haunts and theme parks", which isn't a wrong thing to say. The difference here? I'm getting out of the car for a long while at the end of those trips!

I really had no other business in the town I was going to other than this, so was kinda just an out and back thing. Gonna plan that one better next time...assuming there has to be a next time for that purpose.

Anyway, that gripe aside, onto other things, like hair colors. Most folks know me from the red hair that I've been sporting for, well, a long as while now. However, sometimes you want a little change and this past Thursday was that day...

Yep, definitely pink.

Yes, you're seeing that right. I've gone pink. I never thought that would happen, but here we are and I'm not hating it. Which, for me is a bit surprising but I guess the adage of "Don't knock it til ya try it" is more true than not. Which does make sense really, otherwise so many people wouldn't use it.

So, gonna be an interesting time of things moving forward with haunt tour and all. Definitely going to be an easy one to spot rocking that color upstairs. I'm sure that it'll be the target of a lot of comments and make me even more easily picked out.


I honestly can't wait to see what happens, but that's not for a couple of weeks now. One of the things that I'm actually having a hard time with to be honest. There's nothing that Halloween like around here, not even a haunt within 2 hours and it seriously is driving me nuts to the point of near withdrawal side effects. What can I say? Halloween runs through this girl's blood and I'm seriously lacking it.

However, I'm trying not to let that get me down too much. I will be attending at least one or two haunts this year in a couple of weeks when we're in LA, so I shouldn't bitch too much, right? Who am I kidding, I likely will, and a lot. It's just in my nature do such for some things when the mood strikes, or I've run out of chocolate and/or rum and wine.

Doesn't look like much yet, but it will!

So, what does a vixen do with the lack of haunts? Make her own stuff of course! While I'm gonna dedicate a whole piece to this coming up later in the week, here's a little preview of what I'm working on, corpsing of props got at the dollar store and Target! The post coming about that will break things down in detail and show ya how you can do it with just some stuff around the house.

Speaking of Halloween related topics, this week we've started in on the movie watching and each night we're watching movies around here to get into the mood for the season. So far, we've managed to watch; Hocus Pocus, Alien,  House on Haunted Hill, and Shaun of the Dead.

I know, you're probably thinking to yourself "Why would you include Alien on that list?" There's a couple of reasons for that, but most importantly, it's due to the fact that I classify the Alien movies as follows; Alien: Haunted House movie, Aliens: Vietnam War Film, Alien 3: Prison Film, Alien 4: Firefly with Aliens. If you think about it, they all fit pretty well (maybe the last is a stretch but still) and that's just how it goes.

Also, we had some technically difficulties with the one PC that we use to watch movies off of, but we're working on getting that fixed so that we can continue the #31DaysofHorror trend and catch up for lost time! Going to be a lot more going on with that, and I'll be announcing daily votes over on Twitter regarding what we watch each night as we countdown to Halloween.

Now, if that's all ya care about and don't want to get into the nitty gritty of my life, go ahead and just stop reading now. I won't blame ya, really, I won't.

Still here? Okay, then let's get to it.

Okay, as promised I am going to touch on some my current living situation here. This whole thing has been something I've been pondering, and re-writing, for a few days. As many of you know, I moved 1500 miles across the country and now live in NE New Mexico (save me, no...seriously do) and while it's in the middle of nowhere and not much to do...there are some interesting perks to my particular world at the moment.

The largest being, I'm what one would call in the bdsm world a "lifestyle submissive" or a "live-in slave". No, this is not some kind of 50 Shades of Grey bullshit (not even remotely, nor abusive, or craptastic) it's a reality that many of us out there really enjoy and are wired for. If you've tuned into my stream, you'll know that Purple, aka Pixel or Jess, is my Mistress and owner and she's awesome, so there's that.

On the surface, there may not be a lot of things that seem different from a normal relationship in fact. However, instead of just built on attraction or emotion, this one is built on trust, protocol and ritual. When it comes down to it though, she gets me, and I get the safety and security of knowing that she won't let me fall.

Her entire goal is to help build me up, not tear me down, and her pride is my success in my personal pursuits and mine is to provide companionship and fulfill her needs in taking care of and controlling someone. Take my word on it, it's an amazing feeling when you can just let go and be yourself without worry.

That sounds all fine and good, but what about rules, punishments, all the you know. bondage stuff?! That is the point of it all, right? Well, some of it, sure, and that's all in there too along a variety of paths that we go down. However, I'm not one to kiss and tell as to just what those are in intimate detail. Even then, it's not everything that makes up the day to day life either. Sure, we have our little games, some of them folks will get to see from time to time even, but it's not all ecompassing. There is such a thing out there as dominant fatigue and sub fatigue.

To be fair, on that last one? I need to be reminded when to take a break, I don't do it enough apparently. Anyway...moving along now, this isn't therapy, right? Right...uh huh, sure...next!

In the end, it's a 100% consensual relationship and living situation that just works for the two of us. It's not something that's for everyone, and I don't expect everyone to get it, and that's fine as well. However, I wanted to give a little rundown of things and just let you guys know that if you see me referring not being able to sit down that well, or calling my current partner in crime "Mistress".
