Well, it really was only a matter of time before word of this kind of thing leaked out. Beloved director and producer Paul Anderson, of the Resident Evil series, has told Cinema Today in an interview that he is working on a Monster Hunter movie. He is quoted as saying "Recently, I love Monster Hunter. Now we are in the middle of planning a Monster Hunter movie."
While it's true that the fan base world wide isn't nearly as rabid as the one in Japan for this series, there's no doubt that it will go over big and probably make gobs of money. Anderson has earned Capcom's complete trust with doing movie adaptations since starting the Resident Evil series 11 years ago...so it's hard to doubt that a Monster Hunter movie will happen.
