[HOS] Out of the Fog: More Details on Ripper Row at Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Howl-O-Scream

Just a couple of days away from +Carrie H.C. (InSanity lurks Insaide) and I's trip down to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for opening night of this year's Howl-O-Scream. That said, they're not done announcing things about their newest additions just yet.

This time, a slightly deeper look at the back story behind one of the four new "Terror-tories" that they've added for the 2013 season.

Ripper Row.

Just last week, I took a closer look at what's coming to another of these areas in the park with Ports of Skull and that had me impressed as well. (Read all about that here!) In fact, everything I've seen out of this year's event has been really encouraging. Top that off with some chatter with folks who were at this past weekend's Pass Holder Event and I'm really looking forward to seeing things first hand. Good thing we get a chance to do just that in only a couple of days, eh?

That said, I've covered the living crap out of this one leading up to our trip and if you're curious about everything that's coming you can check out the Mega Post or just click here what's coming that's new for this year.

Still haven't seen more details on Vampire Point or Demon Street, but I'm going to guess it's only a matter of time on that happening soon as well.

Anyway, what are we waiting for? Here's a look at the story behind this new scare-zone:

Ripper Row: The Story
Tendrils of fog curl lazily around those who walk the dark streets and cling to tattered bits of black parasols, forlorn reminders that the denizens of this forsaken place are in mourning. The wailing keens of those who’ve lost someone dear punctuate the air of a city shrouded in darkness and despair. Shadows lurk everywhere.  Everyone is a stranger and no one can be trusted. The yellowed newspapers plastered on sides of buildings shout the dire news in bold headlines:  patrons of the Ten Bells Pub are disappearing.  Whispers permeate every shadow-filled corner and foreboding alleyway, rumors of a dark figure stalking the streets plucking unsuspecting souls who fall victim to his nefarious whims.

Bobbies rush in and out of Scotland Yard, their brows furrowed with anxiety and their eyes averted from the citizens they are helpless to protect.  Their efforts to warn away potential victims has all been in vain as more and more people seem to flood the streets each day. The locals are starting to call it the Autumn of Terror and no one knows when the horrors will stop and England will be safe once more.  How do you save people from a villain with no known identity? For weeks he has been taunting the police by mailing them grisly notes detailing his murderous crimes, all signed with the same shudder-inducing name: Jack the Ripper.  One thing is clear, this is his city now and the suffering is far from over for those who visit Ripper Row…
And there we have it. Just like I was saying about other parks doing just this same thing, Busch Gardens isn't letting up on it all either. From what I can gather, the entrance into the park is going to be a teeming area full of fog, dim lighting and chaos. What better way to start things off? I can't think of one...

The fact that it's immediately after you enter the park and there's no escape from it all, the only choice is to go deeper into the mayhem of the whole event. That's a great touch. This is something that both myself and Carrie have said for a few years now, they need to do something with England. Well, it looks they've finally listened and wow, there's no doubt that this is going to be an interesting way for guests to enter the park. Hopefully it will really set a tone for the event as well, I mean why else would ya put there?
