Well, far from anyone to call the folks at Shocktoberfest prudish in the past but the newest concept at the Sinking Spring, PA haunted attraction will erase that thought from anyone's mind. In addition to the all new Club Shock group/party area for 2013, they're going a bit more risque.
How much so? Well, have you ever considered going through a haunt completely naked? Yep, that's right. Naked. No clothes, just what you were born with and in view of the entirety of the The Unknown haunt on the property.
We've got haunts that restrain you, make you crawl through things, blindfold you and even come close to borderline assault. It only seems logical that naked would be next. Interesting enough, this idea came from a TV show of all places... sound like fun to you?
UPDATE: Due to the town of Sinking Spring getting involved and not wanting to be known for having the "naked haunted house" the naked portion of this one has been cancelled by the folks at Shocktoberfest. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm pretty sure the scare-actors are probably thankful!
Well, if it does here's a little more information regarding this bare it all way to experience fear:
"Inspired by the hit show “Naked and Afraid” on the Discovery channel, Shocktoberfest has created The Naked and Scared Challenge to test your fears and phobias on a whole new level. For the first time ever you can now experience the Unknown Haunted House totally naked! See if you have Gymnophobia- the fear of being nude.
Interestingly enough, I don't think this one is to test the folks going through as much as the stomachs of the actors inside The Unknown. I almost shudder to think about some of the things they'll be seeing. That said, there is a whole procedure to this interesting turn of events at Shocktoberfest. You don't just go to all willy nilly in your birthday suit, how would explain that one to their kids...

"The Naked and Scared Challenge allows participants to go through the Unknown Haunted House Nude or Prude (either totally nude or with underwear). It takes place at the end of the night after all customers have gone through the attraction. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must sign a waiver. Participants undress in a semi-private preshow building, experience the Unknown Haunted House, and then exist into a semi-private fenced courtyard where they will get dressed. Participants are never in view of minors or non-participating customers. Naked and Scared Challenge is not offered on Sundays. "At least they're keeping the thoughts of other guests in mind, I still fear for the actors though...but overall it seems as if they're trying to do it in the best way something like this possibly could be done. Then again no one's dared try it either. I guess some folks could get around it with some creative underwear options, but that does kind of defeat the point doesn't it?
The idea of going through a haunt naked, in October when it's cold out...which it definitely can get in Pennsylvania is just bizarre. Not to mention the fact that haunt floors aren't exactly the cleanest places either...I've worked in them, I know.
