[Cons] Anthrocon Moves "The Zoo" from The Westin to DLCC's Hall D

Just a little bit ago, Anthrocon announced that this year they're trying a little experiment. That being moving the famed "Zoo" from it's traditional space within the confines of the Allegheny Ballroom in the Westin Hotel to Hall D in the David Lawrence Convention Center.

This move means that a portion of the DLCC will be open for 24 hours from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon! Quite the impressive feat and according to Uncle Kage, he "agreed to buy his all his wine from their caterer"...which, while only a joke I'm sure, would definitely have sweetened the deal!

He went on to further explain this move and the reasons behind it on the Anthrocon Forums in a bit more detail as well:
"Furries are very social creatures and thus the Zoo has always required an increasing amount of room.  With our growth past five thousand attendees (and rapidly approaching six thousand), this year we're trying an experimental move to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
During Anthrocon's core days (Friday morning through Sunday afternoon), the Zoo will be located in Hall D on the ground floor of the Convention Center. [West side of the road, the Marriot Courtyard side.] As is traditional, it will be open all 24 hours, and we are currently negotiating the ability to have food service available in the late-night hours. Before Friday morning, and on Sunday evening, the Zoo will return to its old location in the Allegheny Ballroom of the Westin Hotel.
This move gives us a number of advantages:  More room for folks to spread out; More usable programming space in the Westin; Late-night noms (we're working on that!). It is going to be a bit different in many ways, so we are holding our breaths to see how it goes."
Definitely an interesting move and having been one who spent quite a bit of time around the DLCC in the wee hours this past year, I would've loved some place to relax and maybe even grab a bite to eat after the rave or something like that. This could prove to be quite the boon for the nocturnal furs as well as giving more room for The Zoo as a whole too. The fact that it also opens up the rather large Allegheny Ballroom in the Westin provides for some interesting possibilities also.

Overall, I'm hoping that this little "experiment" works out in the long run and am looking forward to seeing just how things work out this coming July.
