[Random] Real Life Logan's Run Comes to San Francisco

In just a couple of days, (yeah, I know, short notice and all) the streets and alleys of San Francisco will be overrun by runners and sandmen, all trying to escape with their lives or bring them down. Definitely a pretty cool idea in and of itself, tying it to Logan's Run? Well, all the better!

So, just who's behind this awesome, live action street game? That would be Gabe Smedresman and Catherine Herdlick of The Multiverse Council. Both are promising this to be in the same vain as the San Francisco's "Come Out and Play" game known as "Journey to the End of the Night", a huge scavenger hunt where you are chased and try to elude capture.

But, don't just take my word for it, here's the rundown on how this all works from their official site
When your lifeclock turns black, will you accede to the mandatory euthanization ritual of Carrousel, or will you run? Search the corners and nooks of the City for the secret of Sanctuary. Discover strange sights and hidden peoples, some trustworthy -- some not -- all while evading ruthless squads of Sandmen searching for Runners at every turn.

This is a street game in the style of Journey To The End of The Night. There will be 1-2 miles of walking involved: so wear comfortable shoes. There may be brief periods of running and chasing, but players of all levels of athletic ability will enjoy themselves.

Sounds like a good time to me, and no doubt runners and sandmen alike will be getting into the character of things with costumes and who knows what else. If you're in the area and looking for something to do this Saturday night, this might be right up your alley.

However, you do have to buy tickets for this one in advance, it's not just a free for all. You can get tickets here, but hurry as they are close to sold out, and they range from $20 for runners and $50 for sandmen. The reason for the difference? Well, it seems as if the sandmen are going to get some interesting perks exclusive to them for the game. What they are, I'm not 100% sure...but bound to be interesting.

However, here's a look at the lifeclocks that runners will be sporting throughout the event as well, definitely some pretty cool stuff!

Overall seems like a blast and I hope that more of these kinds of events pop up in other cities and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the pictures and video that's bond to come about from this one!
