Okay, so this is a little short notice as this one is happening tonight, Friday April 10th. Yes, you read that right, it's tonight. However, if ya already have plans, don't worry as they'll be going for a second night tomorrow Saturday the 11th. So, if you're 16 and up, this one's for you! It's a very different kind of thing than what we reviewed back in October during Haunt Tour 2014, so don't expect you're typical haunted attraction experience at all with this one.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, time to get down to what I'm on about this. Well killing zombies of course! What else would an event called Apocalypse: Zombie Experience be about? In all seriousness though, this is a laser tag kind of deal but not in your typical fashion. Mostly because the zombies can't shoot back. So, the only thing thing that you have to worry about surviving the course that the minds behind one of Philly's best haunts have laid out for ya to get through.
Each team will go through a single checkpoint in order to "win" the game and hopefully no one will have become infected along the way. Not too bad, right? Well, they've got a few more things lined up as well for those willing to take on the challenge.
For an extra $20 per person ($45), you'll get to go through not only the first area that everyone gets to do, but the special BlackOps area that takes you even deeper into the infestation. Bringing all the madness of even more zombies, close calls and other craziness with it. So, if ya think you have what it takes, that's for you.
Of course, there's more. You think there's just two options to this insanity, well you're wrong. If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to be one of the undead, this last one's for you. For a whopping $199, you and a friend/loved one/hated roommate/whatever ya want (as long as it's human and breathing) will get the chance to not only experience all of the zombie carnage your heart desires but....in the end you won't survive. I'm sorry to say, you'll be infected.
What's that mean? You get to go out there and try and infect the other poor saps trying to survive...something you didn't do apparently. So, after your run and a little bit of a training exercise, some make up and costuming you'll be tossed out into the darkness of the warehouse to spread some zombie love if you can for a full two hours.
