[Haunts] Tavern of Terror Coming to the Oldest Haunted Hayride in the US, Allen's Haunted Hayrides, for 2015

Time to take things a bit more local, very local. After 36 years of haunted hayride operation, the nation's oldest, Allen's Haunted Hayrides is adding in a whole new experience in 2015, the Tavern of Terror. From the sounds of things, the folks at Allen's have decided to take a bit of a unique approach to this walk through attraction.
"As you stroll through our 3500 square foot haunted walk through you will see a variety classic horror, ranging from Frankenstein to Dracula to Carnivale to an alien invasion!!

We have a little bit everything in our Tavern of Terror to rattle your bones!"
From that, it sounds like we're gonna get something that you don't see too often these days, a bit of an anthology house of the classics. With so many places concentrated on over the top scares and gore, this could be right up some folks alley.

Even the building being used for the new attraction has quite a bit of history as it started it's life as a store to sell milk and ice cream from the Allen Dairy. After it closed in the 1980s, it became a tavern. First known as the Happy Heifer Lounge and then, most recently, Pizon’s Place. So, an actual bar being used, pretty cool idea there and fitting for the name.

I can't say much else on things here, we haven't been to Allen's yet, but we're hoping to change that this year. The only thing we've heard is that it's a complete throwback in a lot of ways. Not really sure what to expect with that one. I have a few ideas, mostly since I got my own start at a small farm haunted hayride, but it should be pretty interesting to see just what's up with things over at the Allen Farm.

In addition to the hayride and Tavern of Terror, there are also free carnival rides for ticket holders and bonfires that come at an extra cost. This year's event runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October. The ticket booth opens at 6pm (cash only) and hayrides kick off once it's dark, the Tavern of Terror will be open at 7pm.

You can find more info at the official Allen's Haunted Hayride & Tavern of Terror website and keep an eye out for our upcoming review during Haunt Tour 2015!
