[HHN23]/American Werewolf in London Claws into Universal Orlando!

To wind up #HHNRevealWeek, Universal Orlando has come out with all their guns blazing. It's been a crazy week full of announcements and not only from Orlando, Hollywood got in the mix two and revealed two new scare zones last night.

However, the real show this week has been down in Florida and this next one is definitely the way to wrap things up.

This has been described as a "passion project" by Mike Aiello, it's a wonder they've managed to pull this thing off at all given the history.  Codenamed "Trinity" by the HHN creative staff. The reason for that name? Well, that's simple; "Trinity because we've attempted to realize this maze three separate times. Third times a charm."

You’ll fear the beast as you face the bloody chaos of werewolf attacks in this horrifying house.

Wow, I had a bit of a tip off to this based on some digging around various message boards and the like after the clue earlier was announced, but ya know...I don't overly mind this. A few years ago they did The Wolfman and the scenery and set pieces were awesome. Not to mention the "on wires" actors they had inside the house...I only had wished it was a bit longer. Maybe they'll fix that this time around.

“It’s terrific that guests will be able to actually experience some of the scarier scenes from the film,” said John Landis, writer and director of “An American Werewolf in London.”  “I had fun working with the Universal team to bring one of my more insane movies to life.”

“’An American Werewolf in London’ is a must-see for any true horror fan,” said Mike Aiello, Creative Director for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights.  “The haunted maze mirrors John Landis’ horrifying story and having him work with us in the creative process was really the only way this could authentically come to life.”

So, what can fans of the film expect to find inside this one? Well, as usual creative director, Mike Aiello, took to Twitter to give us all a little more info:
"Any fan of this film is gonna live this one!! We've got it all! Slaughtered Lamb, Piccadilly, the theater! (yes the entire theater) And an American Werewolf! It's many appearances in the maze are completely articulated puppets! These things are badass!! We went to the original audio source materials...We had to have it sound the same!!! The Howl!!! We even have Elmer Bernstein's score!"
He went on to say that the facade of this one is "the Slaughtered Lamb. Big as life!" That's something I'm going to have to see with my own eyes...they're really pulling out all the stops for this one.

The enthusiasm from Mike on this one goes to show just how much of a labor of love this has been for everyone behind the scenes at Universal. Considering that they've been trying to get this done for a long time now, I can see why and the idea of fully articulated werewolf puppets?! And that amazing score from the film being incorporated.

Yep, this one definitely sounds like a winner to me.

However, some people are saying it's too similar to "The Wolfman" house in theme and all that and I can assure you that this one will be very, very different than that house from a few years ago. There's a lot of things that are just different on so many levels that it's not even funny. So, give this one a chance before hating on it, will ya?

So, there ya have it. The end of #HHNRevealWeek goes out with a huge bang. Will there be more announcements? Who knows...but for now, rest easy...if you can and remember to check out the official Halloween Horror Nights Orlando website for tickets, times and other evil goodness!

Oh, and before we go, here's a look at the facade of The Slaughtered Lamb!

Stay tuned for more updates...it seems there's yet more brewing for this year's event!
