[HHN] A Look Behind the Scenes at The Walking Dead at Universal Hollywood! [UPDATED!]

Alright, well we all know that the Terror Tram will be themed around The Walking Dead and that there will be a maze dedicated to the show as well out at Universal Hollywood. We thought we know a lot about it then when it was announced.

However, there's fresh information out there from John Murdy and Greg Nicotero, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Makeup Supervisor of the show, which gives us a very unique look at what's to come for Halloween Horror Nights this year!

They are planning a massive and immersive environment that will really let folks get the full experience of being in the world that's been created by Nicotero and the rest of The Walking Dead crew. Everything from using stages in the Universal Back Lot to props and scenes from Season 3 and earlier of the show...they've got it all. I'm hoping that Universal Orlando's is even half as insane as this thing sounds like it's going to be.

Not only that, but they give a lot of insight into just what they're going to have from the show itself within the all new The Walking Dead: No Safe Haven maze and Terror Tram experiences. Definitely a few familiar scenes are showing up...the "deer locker" will be featured on the Terror Tram experience along with the Governor's Mansion and "the big fat walker" inside the prison maze itself.

Don't just take my word on it though...here's the video with a lot more info than I could possibly type out here:

UPDATE: John Murdy took to Twitter to give us a bit more info about this incredible new area for HNN...
"The new Walking Dead maze and scarezone are located in our metro sets on backlot. The metro set area will also house Black Sabbath 13 3D...which is being built inside the former 747 Stage (where Airport was filmed)."
As for the history of the stage itself,  "The 747 stage used to house a full size plane mock up, used for countless movies including all those Airport disaster films of the 70's..." and then back to Black Sabbath 13 3D "That SOUND STAGE will now be home to Black Sabbath 13 3D so...yay!!! We finally get to build a maze inside a sound stage!"
What about The Walking Dead maze? Well, Murdy has some more to say on that as well,
"The Walking Dead maze is being built in a large tent in that area, you can see it from the tram route. [The] Terror Tram will also be part of the event and will remain in its current location. Terror Tram is themed to Season 3 of The Walking Dead (which we already know) So the maze is more what happens inside the prison (with a few detours) and Terror Tram is what happens outside the prison."
Definitely sounds like they've got a pretty cohesive plan intact for this one that should be pretty amazing for everyone that gets a chance to see it.
"So there ya go, maze location mystery solved. New area on the backlot for you to experience...pretty cool eh? More announcements coming..."
