[Jpop] Anime Central Announces angela to Perform in 2014!

Okay, so I'm a little slow on this, but last week Anime Central announced that Jpop band, angela, will be performing at this year's convention!

They will be performing as the musical guests of honor for this year and their show is scheduled for Friday, May 16th at the Hyatt Regency O'hare.

angela, made up of the duo of atsuko and KATSU. Their predominantly upbeat songs are a blend of just about every musical genre, with a strong base in electronica, dance, and jazz. angela will be bringing their full support band to perform at Anime Central.

Well known for their musical contributions to many anime shows, angela made their major debut in 2003 with opening and closing themes for the sci-fi anime "Stellvia." Perpetually charting on the Japanese Oricon, angela's music can be heard in anime titles such as "Fafner in the Azure," "Heroic Age," "Corpse Princess," "Asura Cryin,'" "K," "Valvrave the Liberator," "Coppelion," among others. Their most recent full album, "ZERO," was released in April of 2013, celebrating their 10th anniversary. It was also announced recently that angela would be performing the theme song for the upcoming anime, "Knights of Sidonia."

Needless to say, they get around quite a bit and their past appearances just put an exclamation point on their already busy career having previously played internationally at Anime Festival Asia in Singapore (4 years running), Japan Expo in Paris, and in North America multiple times at various conventions.

Here's a short version of their song "Angel" for those not familiar with their style:
