[Anime] Live Action Lupin the Third Unveils Character Shots!

Last night, Crunchyroll posted up the first character visuals for the live action Lupin the Third movie that's set to come out on August 30th in Japan.

The film, based on the manga and anime series of the same name will be directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Azumi, Godzilla: Final Wars) and 31-year-old Shun Oguri plays the title character Lupin the Third, the grandson of Arsène Lupin.

Filming took place in five Asian countries: Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines and they wrapped up the shoot back in December. Right now it is in the final stage of the editing, according to the producer Mataichiro Yamamoto.

This adaptation will tell how Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko find each other, then form the world famous thief team and start being chased by Zenigata as well. No clue how well it will translate, but I think this one has a chance to do pretty well as a live action adaptation, hopefully it will be. I've always loved the Lupin franchise and would love to see this one do well.

Anyway, on with the pictures and it seems that Lupin here is missing something. I think he could use for a bit more sideburns, maybe that's just me though. The rest look pretty good though, can't see too much room for improvement on them...
