[Haunts] Long Beach's Queen Mary Dredging Up All New Terror for 2014's "Dark Harbor"

No stranger to hauntings, real or manufactured, Long Beach's very own ghost ship, The Queen Mary, is setting her sights on bringing even more fear to their annual Dark Harbor haunt event. The centerpiece for this year is coming in the form of an all new "extreme" style haunt, one that will require waivers to be signed. Just what they have in store is anyone's guess right now, but I'm sure we won't have to wait too long for answers.

Queen Mary officials had this to say about the new attraction; "This new, exclusive experiment in horror puts guests in an intimate and frightening setting that will leave a lasting impression jarring extreme fear." So, make of that what you will.

However, that's not all that's new for this year's event. Sure, The Ringmaster and Half Hatch Harry will be back to lay the scare on, but there's a lot of other changes coming as well.

Voodoo Village will entice and terrify with dark magic gypsies that will taunt guests passing by in a setting wrought with shrunken heads, voodoo dolls and the feared Voodoo Queen. Monster Midway, revamped for 2014, will feature the return of the Freakshow, including the Beast as well as a mechanical monster and a new unknown ride.

Dark Harbor will also play host to LED hula hoopers, live musical entertainment, costume contests, holiday celebrations, and drag shows will enhance the spine-tingling experience.

Last, but not least is the news that the Hellfire and Containment mazes will not be back for this year and that two all new experiences will be taking their place. Again, not many details on what they'll be, but the turnover should definitely be a welcome one and hopefully they live up to, if not surpass, their predecessors.

This year's Dark Harbor will run from 7pm-Midnight on select nights and weekends between October 2nd and November 2nd and costs $20 per person. For more information on times, tickets and even staying overnight aboard The Queen Mary, check out the official Queen Mary website!
