[Haunts] First Codename for Halloween Horror Nights 2015 at Universal Hollywood Announced

It's never too early for Halloween planning, and just a couple of weeks ago, the first clues for this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood started their slow trickle out to the die hard fans. As always, these are cryptic and often throw people for a loop that follow along. Creative Director, John Murdy, loves to tease and screw with people on these, so be warned, none of them will make much sense at first glance.

These things will make you lose your mind, just when you think you have it? You'll just run into a dead end and have to start tacking backwards and hoping you don't get lost in the woods all over again trying to get there. So, if you're up to the challenge, here's the first codename along with the clues behind it after:

Seems simple enough, right? Well, not so fast, here's the clue breakdown for this one:

  • The codename "Post Punk" is in reference to the genres (yes multiple) of music that followed the Punk music revolution in the 1970's.
  • The name of the maze is found in a song title from a band that is associated with the Post Punk movement.
  • The Key member of the group that the song is by shares one of Murdy's names...he has four of them technically speaking.
  • One of the words in the title is something that modern technology has made virtually extinct/killed off.
  • The song was originally released as a single.

Now, I know what you're thinking; "This is easy! It's Video Killed the Radio Star". However, one has to remember, one of these clues is always, and I do mean always, false and has nothing to do with anything else. Yep, that's right, a red herring is in our midst somewhere in there. That, and the idea that The Buggles hit song from the '79 being it, would be way too obvious for Murdy.

So, it's up to you out there, what do you folks think? I'm kind of at a loss here on this one and usually am.
