[Gaming] Capcom Announces "Monster Hunter Stories" Spinoff Game for 3DS

Well, I'm a little surprised to see this news. Earlier in the week, at the Monster Hunter Festa '15 tournament, Capcom dropped all kinds of news and a trailer for the newest installment of the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories.

Not much is really known, other than the trailer and a few details like it's 5 year development time so far, but it's definitely an interesting direction to take and the fact that's an RPG? That's just going to make this all the more intriguing. However, we don't have much else to really go on. The folks over at Famitsu did manage to get a quote of the of the game's producer, however;
“We want to imbue this game with a storyline and brand of fun that can only be done within the confines of an RPG, while still preserving the core sensibilities that people have come to associate with Monster Hunter,” Tsujimoto said.
Definitely curious, so just what can folks expect?  No gameplay footage, but have a full trailer!

Okay, lots to digest there from the world they've created, animation style and it looks like rideable monsters will be a thing too? I mean who doesn't want to ride a mini-rathalos?! This one really looks like it's going to be an whole new take on things. Hunters have to start somewhere, right?

Monster Hunter Stories hits the 3DS in Japan sometime in 2016, as of now, no word on a NA or EU release date but I'm sure we won't have to wait too long before that's announced as well.

Now, for the screenshots, of which there are many!

And, there ya have it, everything we know of so far on the latest entry to the Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Stories. Stay tuned right here or follow along on Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and even Facebook for all the latest!
