[Haunts] Slipknot Launches New Haunted Attraction 'Slipknot's Scream Park' in Sacramento

Okay, this is some interesting news from the California haunt world. Turns out that Slipknot is getting into the haunted attraction business for the 2015 season in a partnership with Sacramento's Scream Park. The announcement, just made a couple of days ago, has definitely turned some heads and just what they have in store for everyone is still a bit of a mystery.

Musicians getting into the haunted attraction end of things isn't new at all, Rob Zombie has partnered with Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights in the past and now owns two of his own attractions. Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and Slash have all had attractions at HHN Hollywood and Mushroomhead has been affiliated with a couple of attractions as well. It only makes sense if you really think about it.

Here's the announcement trailer for this all new twisted nightmare...

So, with that out of the way, just what do the minds behind Slipknot have up their sleeves for 2015? Well, here's a little look at what to expect from the three twisted attractions from the minds of Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

That's quite the line up there...now let's take a look at each one a bit more closely, shall we?

Prepare for Hell:
"Welcome to the bowels of hell. Stylized in the vein of Slipknot, this haunted attraction brings you through hell’s most obscene and shocking layer, reserved only for the most heinous individuals. What you see can never be unseen."
Hell's always a fun place to visit and it sounds like it's gonna be even more twisted than ever with the minds of Slipknot and their influence fueling things. Don't think this version is the one that all the lawyers out there are hoping for...

Clown's Playhouse:
"Traverse the mind of Clown in this hardcore fluorescent attraction. This attraction features high-shock clowns and vibrant creatures who reside in Clown’s extensive imagination. Escape his mind in this labyrinth before the creatures corner you. This haunted attraction utilizes 3D chroma-depth technology, augmenting this nightmare from jaw-dropping to jaw-dropping-off."
And there is it, as soon I heard this I had a feeling and that's been realized. Clowns plus 3D, again, this theme can be done really well but it's just so over done with things. Now, I have a feeling that Crahan doesn't go for the usual and this one just could be one of those outliers that bucks the trend...I sure hope so.

Skin Ticket:
"As urban explorers, your group has decided to break into an abandoned house in Sacramento’s depressed part of town. You thought it was abandoned - until you smelled the rancid decay of rotting flesh. You have stumbled into the home of a serial killer. Find your way out of this horrifying estate in total blackout - the electricity has been shut off. Your group will be given one flashlight to survive."
This is one of the experiences that doesn't appear to be influenced by Slipknot at all. Typical lights out thing going on here from the sounds of it. I do like the UE spin on things, but as that was something I used to do a lot of, I'm curious on just how close they've gotten the experience to the real thing.

Also, the attraction will be home to the official Aftershock Pre-Party from 7pm-Midnight on October 23rd and even a meet and greet session to meet Corey Taylor and M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan from Slipknot.

This year's event kicks off on Friday, October 2nd and runs select nights through November 1st with a huge stand running from the 22nd thru the 1st. Tickets for the event start at just $25 and they're offering a dual event VIP ticket with San Fran Bay's Overload Scream Park for $70.

You can get more info about discounts, directions, and all sorts of insanity over on the Slipknot's Scream Park official website.

And there ya have it, all the lowdown on this year's Slipknot's Scream Park set to turn Sacremento into a living hell. Personally, I wish 'em the best of luck and hope that they continue to make nightmares for years to come.

Stay tuned for more haunt news, reviews, and the rest of the insanity as the march to haunt season and Haunt Tour 2015 continues!
