[Anime]/Little Witch Academia Blu-ray Details!

Well, let's start today off with a bit of anime news, eh?

Trigger has announced that their hit anime short, Little Witch Academia, will be getting the Blu-ray treatment via Twitter last night.

Can't say that I'm surprised at all by this one, the Anime Mirai entry has become one of the most talked about pieces of anime in quite a long time. So much so that the Kickstarter campaign for a sequel reached it's goal of $150,000 in just a few hours and ended up crushing it by bringing in a total of over over $652,000. Hard to argue with those numbers at all.

Alright then, what do we get with this new release of the original that started it all? Well this collector’s edition will come as a two disc region free package:
  • The original 26 minute episode
  • 66 minute making-of video “How the Magic was Born”
  • 112-page art book
  • and an original soundtrack disc.
They've also rolled out the subtitle treatment for both the movie and the making of video in English and the original 26minute episode is also available in Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, German, French and Italian.

You get all that for the grand total of ¥6,000, or about $61 US and it's available for pre-order from Trigger's website. Oh yeah, there's a limit of 3 per customer as well (seems a bit strange, but hey...it is really popular.) That said, there won't be too much waiting on this one either as it's set to ship in September.

I have to say, it's not a bad package and that price really isn't that bad at all when you consider what some anime special edition releases tend to go for. I'm really happy for Trigger and their whole animation team. Little Witch Academia really is a special thing and I know that I'm really looking forward to seeing the sequel once they're done with production!

Still haven't seen the first one? Have you been living under a rock?, what are you waiting for?! Here it is 100% free!
