[HHN] Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood Mega Post

Well, we're coming up to haunt season and while I've featured what was going on at Universal Studios Orlando for this year's HHN, I realized I didn't do one of these for Hollywood!

I know, for shame but "thems the breaks" as it were, eh? So, let's fix that! There's been a ton of news that's come out about this year's event and while I have been covering them as they happen, it's a lot to take in.

This year's line up looks to be as intense as ever and there's a whole lot of detail, as always, being put into each and every experience out there. There's even an all new VIP experience that has been in the works for quite some time and should be an improvement over last year's impressive showing as well.

With that, let's get on with the all new line up coming to this year's Halloween Horror Nights. We'll start with the first announcement and work our way through the order they were announced as per the usual here. First up though? The preview trailer for HHN 2013!

The first maze announced for HHN Hollywood was also announced for the Orlando event as well. Definitely an interesting move and many saw it coming, but it's one of only two properties that both events are sharing this year.

Either way, it's definitely looking like this will be a stellar maze and it's going modeled after the 2013 version of the movie. However, all the reports from the Creative Directors of HHN and HHN Orlando have said that it should be a great experience for fans of the original as well. Read on to find out more...or we just might have swallow your soul.

The second shared property with Universal Orlando and for good reason. Both parks are putting on huge shows revolving around the hit TV show and can you really blame them? It's popular as hell and there's just no way around that.

Universal Hollywood does have a unique spin on it for this year though, just like the version that will be in Orlando.

...and have an awesome look behind the scenes!

Black Sabbath 13 3D marks another partnership with a heavy metal music icon for the 2013 season and this one definitely sounds like it's going to be one helluva ride:

"Aside from being the band that pretty much invented heavy metal, Sabbath's music has always been a warning to the world...a warning on the dangers of the occult, addiction, the horrors of war and nuclear apocalypse, this dark subject matter inspired the maze." Read on!

Insidious comes to this year's HHN and not only will it feature icon scenes from the first movie, but also the sequel which comes out on Friday, September 13th. I'm pretty sure this marks a first for a featured maze at either Universal property as well...so, should definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out!

For even more info about what scenes to expect within the maze from the original movie and some other insights to just how this all came about, read on...

Another new movie to come out in 2013...The Purge gets the scare-zone treatment and it's going to be one helluva shock to guests as to where it is in the park! Read on for all the details...
This is your emergency broadcast system, announcing the commencement of the annual PURGE....
At the siren, all emergency services will be suspended for 12 hours.
Your government thanks you for your participation.
Everyone's favorite little bastard is back! It's been years since Chucky had a presence within the park for HHN, but they've brought him back with a vengeance. This all new scare-zone for 2013 is sure to be one of the most insane things out there, let's hope they brought the insults back, eh? Read on for more...

""I used to have a show at Halloween Horror Nights...but those bastards took it away from me!
I've been waiting...and waiting...AND WAITING!"
Yep, they're back! All of the classics from Universal's rich monster movie history in that trip the light fantastic rave environment. This year though, they've brought something back...resurrected if you will. The favorite of Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, the Phantom of the Opera and Dracula himself, along with his wives, will be finding their home once again inside Dracula's Castle for another party...but with a twist. Read on for more info!

No one really knows what El Cucuy looks like...no one who has ever gotten close to him has lived to tell the tale. Some say he is a horrible monster with razor sharp teeth, others say he is a shadow, an evil spirit that can change forms. They say he lives in a cave, high up in the hills and comes down to the villages at night...searching for disobedient children.

Maybe there's a good reason to be afraid of the dark....

Also, two additional, all original, scare-zones are cropping up as well for this year's event!

Cirque Du Klownz: Bienvenue! Welcome to the elegant streets of Paris, home to the Grand Guignol. Come see the lively clowns perform right before you. But, beware, they may not be there to entertain you... they may be looking to put you in their next act… the gruesome ending to their horrific show.

Also, in addition to this will be an all new take on classic horror icons that have terrified the world over...and probably some crows.

Scarecrowz: Scarecrows were once built to ward off crows and evil spirits. Now they welcome them. A new breed is on the loose!

Tremble in terror as colossal, haunted Scarecrowz tower over you, driven to harvest the blood of the innocent to fertilize their land. They'll take whatever's left back to their fields, limbs and all. Slaughter is now in season.

There's still a lot more to come in the way of announcements for this year's event. Once again, they'll only be at Universal Hollywood for this year. Personally, I'm really looking forward to what's coming next!

So, keep it tuned to Kitsuneverse as we bring you everything as soon as it claws it's way to us.

Just like Orlando's line up, I have to say that this one looks really impressive and it's not even fully revealed yet. While there has been some complaining that one house is at one event and not the other, just get over it. The fact that Cabin in the Woods is not coming to Hollywood is a good thing and there's plenty of awesome nightmare fuel here that's been created by John Murdy and Co. for this year's event.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood will run on select nights from September 20th thru November 2nd this year and  the park is open from 7pm-2am on each night of the entire run. Tickets cost anywhere from $44 (online) on Nov 1st, $49 opening night and the rest of the run is $54-$74 depending on the night and other discounts (like buying online).

In addition to this there's also the Front of the Line Pass which can run $119 or $139 (again, depending on the date of visit). There's also limited VIP passes which give you unlimited front of line use at all mazes, a paranormal investigation on the Universal Backlot and xxclusive entry to the VIP Horror Lounge. Those are either $199 or $219 depending on the night you go as well.

Also, annual pass holders can get access to a very special VIP package that is only available on 4 nights of the event which gives you access to behind the scenes tours, given by Creative Director John Murdy himself and a whole lot more!

Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, the Killer Deal Nights Passes (as reported on earlier) are completely sold out...it didn't take very long to be honest, not that anyone in their right mind would've thought they'd stick around. I mean $130 for 10 nights? That's a killer deal alright...

Seriously, with all of this going on, I was really tempted to figure out a way for us to fly out to catch this event, but there's just no way. So, we'll be hitting up Orlando's event instead. We'll be live tweeting and posting to to Google+ as we experience the insanity first hand from Florida. Such a hard life, ain't it?

For information on purchasing tickets or other details about this year's event head on over to the official Halloween Horror Nights website for all that info and more!
