[Haunt Tour] Behind the Scenes - 1937 Miles Down

Well, another weekend behind us, and while we're taking it easy so far with the schedule, things are on track to best the past couple of years as far as the number of haunts that we hit still too! It's always so very hit or miss with the itinerary every year and it's nearly impossible to foresee just how things are going to play out. Trying to squeeze 30 haunts around work, finances, random weather, and life is a logistical nightmare. Sort of can be scarier than any haunt out there too!

Just think we drove almost 200 miles, round trip, to visit one haunt. Yeah, we're a little nuts sometimes, but that's just how things work out. That haunt was Wells Township Haunted House, and it was totally worth the trip, without question there. All just part of the territory though. Now, the things that we can't really control? Well, that's another matter entirely.

So far we've had a couple of "sick nights" crop up on the schedule, in addition to a bit of weather that derailed a weekend. Both are just those things that we have to deal with as they come. Even still, we do actually try to plan for them the best that we can, but you just never know how it's going to turn out, or how long it's going to last. So far though, we've managed to avoid the "Haunt Plague", which is a good thing.

Last year we got hit with it really hard about this time of year, after a crazy three day weekend in the Philadelphia area where we hit up 7 haunts. It was insane, but being around that many people, and in some funky weather, just took a physical toll on us. It was so bad that we had to pretty much cancel the rest of the schedule. Luckily, we've kept that kind of thing to a minimum this time around.

So, anyway, back to this year's tour. Right now we're standing at 9 haunts visited, would've been at 10, but due to a bit of a migraine issue we had to cancel this past Sunday's outing to Castle Blood. We'll get there this weekend though, so no harm there. Even with that slight snag, we're on track to beat out 2013 and 2014 for total number of haunts.

For this coming weekend, it looks like we have Haunted Hills Estate, Castle Blood, Ghoul Mansion, Bloodview and maybe Fright Farm or somewhere else entirely from our list. That'd put us at 14, tying last year's numbers, and with a few weeks left after to get some more too. So, we should definitely beat things out as we have quite a few places we've had to postpone/reschedule. Biggest Haunt Tour ever has a pretty nice ring to it.

I'm also trying to figure out how to get Cincinnati and Baltimore on the schedule as well, but I really have no clue how that's going to happen at all. I mean, typically we avoid doing things Halloween weekend, but maybe this year could be an exception there, I just don't know yet so we'll have to see how that pans out.

Other than that, been a little behind on things in the video department but I do hope to remedy that here in the next couple of days. So far, it seems like people are enjoying them, so we'll keep at it and hopefully get even more interesting stuff going there. It's still our first year, so if anyone has anything they'd like to see more or less of, let us know!

Also, want to give a huge shout out to the Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary crew. Yesterday, I got a package in the mail with a ton of awesome 25th Anniversary merch from their store, might recall from our review, we mentioned that there wasn't much in the way of that during our visit. Well, now there is!

Guess you could say that it's one of the perks in doing what we do. Was super unexpected of them to do that though. Almost makes me feel a little bad that we had to kind of downgrade them from last year's rating. However, it does kind of show that they appreciate the honesty from us too. So, there is that too.

Not really much else to cover here, still working on things and should hopefully be all caught up on everything by later today/tonight, and at the worst...tomorrow.

So, if you're reading these, thanks. Like the videos, it's a new thing that I'm doing so hopefully it's been of some interest.
