[Cosplay] Pittsburgh's Toonseum to hold Cause-Play Party March 1st!

Pittsburgh's very own museum to all things cartoons, the Toonseum, has announced that in just 8 days they'll be holding their first ever Cause-Play Party. At 8:30pm on March 1st, cosplayers of all kinds are invited for a 21 and up event held at the Tilden Lounge, just a couple doors away from the Toonseum itself.

According their Facebook page, the event is open to all;

All guests are encouraged to show up as their favorite character. It’s not just a costume party, it’s a cosplay party! All characters are welcome from superheroes to furries, whether you are a geek, Otaku, or just look good in your favorite lycra spandex onsie. If you love cosplay this is your party!

Prizes and trophies will be awarded in a variety of costume categories. This special fundraiser for ToonSeum will also feature a silent auction with a variety of items including character costumes, original art, and unique experiences.
 

Looks like a good time for all and in addition to what they've listed there, there's even more on tap for everyone that comes out for the event. Light hors d'oeuvres and specially crafted Super Shots will be served throughout the night and of course a cash bar will be available for those interested (read: most folks).

But wait, there's more! If you're looking to have a little more fun, there's also a Super Fan VIP pre-party which runs from 7:30-8:30pm. Details on that haven't been fully announced yet, but for the main event tickets run from $20-$50 and are available on the event's Showtix page here.

This is a fundraiser for the Toonseum itself and definitely seems like a great idea to get folks out for a good time when there's not much else going on in the coplay/costuming/fursuiting world. So, if you're in or around Pittsburgh, definitely might wanna check this out!
